mewithoutyou played at New Brookland Tavern in Columbia, SC last night, May 19th.
This was my first time seeing mewithoutYou live and it definitely exceeded my expectations. It was one of the fullest that I’ve ever seen the tavern. The band has been around since 2001 and they are still going strong. It was a last-minute decision to drive up and catch the show so I missed the first two bands. Yeah, kinda bummed about that. Mewithoutyou started their set around 10 pm. They played a lot of fan favorites such as Silencer, Tie Me Up! Untie Me!, A Sweater Poorly Knit, Messes Of Men, The Dryness And The Rain, and The Soviet. I was very impressed by their drummer, Rickie Mazzotta, who was nothing short of amazing. Lead singer, Aaron Weiss’s, spoken-word vocals blew my mind. The crowd was very lively, singing along to every word. Instrumentals were top notch, vocals made the show intense, and the crowd overall made this a killer show and I highly recommend seeing this band in the future (for those who haven’t). Definitely hope to see these guys come back to Columbia very soon.
